CASE STUDIES - DISC HERNIATION
A disc herniation is a rupture and/or bulge of a interverterbral disc. Commonly, a herniated disc is called a "ruptured" or "slipped" disc and occurs when part of the disc material pops out of place and bulges into the spinal canal, sometimes placing pressure on the nerves.


Cervical Disc Herniation

Case Study 01
Patient:  45 year old active woman with 3 years of neck and right arm pain.
Treatment:  Two-level anterior decompression, fusion and instrumentation.


Lumbar Disc Herniation

Case Study 01
Patient:  38 year old laborer, immediate onset of left leg pain/weakness after lifting heavy load.
Treatment:  Emergent microdiscectomy
